FYI:

I meant to forward this sooner. It's the result of the TB meeting where 
we requested that the copyright file could be placed in 
/usr/share/doc/<package name> as per the usual debian policy.

It was approved, and by implication so is installing the other usual 
files from the debian directory there (changelog, docs, etc).
