One more data point: it looks like the issue does not appear in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS :)

Apart from the aa-genprof freeze (bug #1323754) 14.04 seems to run very well, so I’m good, but if someone still wants to look into the KILLED issue, let me know what I can do.
