[MERGE] Doc changes

OK, let's keep it in the codebase then.  We should add a redirect from
the website.  That allows at least two good things:

 - patches/merges that add or change commands can update the docs too

 - we can eventually write a doctest-like thing that makes sure the 
   commands given in the tutorial do work
