I agree completely. We just need to get trees without working
directories. I had one before we created push (my push would fail to
push to a directory with a working tree if it couldn't update it).
Robert's push was made official, and we never re-introduced missing
working trees. (I think Robert was working on cleaning up the code to
create future checkouts).
