Hi all,

This is the weekly status update for the 0.19 release process. There
wasn't one last week, but I will make them weekly from now on.

Thanks to all who have contributed so far, there has been a lot of
discussion and reviewing on the list which is good to see.

I don't feel the need to bring the release forward at all, there is
nothing that seems compelling enough that has landed so far, and it
feels like there are some good changes hanging around the corner. I
don't know if they will make this release, and some may be more suitable
for merging at the start of a window, but it is exciting nevertheless.

This means that there are still two weeks of open mainline development
left. As a reminder the schedule is

  * 14 Aug - Feature freeze.
  * 21 Aug - RC1.
  * 28 Aug - Hopefully release.

dato asked me to highlight the current issue with bundle in 0.19dev0,
which he kindly reported as #129504 [0]. This seems like an important
issue to resolve before the release, but there are 3 weeks in which to
do that.

As I highlighted last time there are a few bugs marked as critical. It
would be great to be able to release with fixes for those. For my part I
haven't contributed to the documentation audit as I said that I would,
but Ian has done some great work on this, and hopefully I can help over
the coming weeks.

As for the merge queue there are only 3 requests older than 10 days.
There are a few requests approaching that mark that could do with some
love. If you have the expertise to review one of these requests could
you please take the time to do so, so we can ensure that the merge queue
stays really short.

Thanks for all your work,

James
