These aren't really cases that I would like to leave in production code.
I would even consider getting rid of the "if memory" for these
particular cases.
I just notice that "bzr branch bzr.dev" takes ~100MB of RAM, which seems
to all be in the index objects, but there didn't seem to be much I could
do to decrease it.
