OK, I think a slightly longer RC process and a few more
carefully-selected merges onto that branch may let us feel we have a
good release with less pressure to slip.
Our 4-week cycle would have had 1.8rc1 next Monday, the 6th of
October. I'll move that forward just slightly and do
1.8rc1 Friday 3 October
1.8final Monday 13 October
There's quite a lot of good stuff already in bzr.dev, and about 17
pending patches, of which 12 are approved or tweak-approved and could
land if their authors finish them off - especially Andrew, who now has
6 waiting to merge. The other 5 patches need review, and I'd like to
keep that number no higher during this cycle, so things aren't sitting
without a clear decision.
