We certainly should, but this doesn't specifically go into 1.17.  I
moved it to 2.0 so it's on the radar for that.

Those two must merge; I think they're approved; you should probably
merge to 1.17

According to NEWS this is in 1.17rc1 so the bug is just out of date.  Fixed.

If you're going to merge them I suggest you go into 1.17 and thence to trunk.
