I don't understand what you mean by this. Are you proposing note() as
an alternative to Command.outf? If so, the issue is that it doesn't
write to sys.stdout
Are you concerned that note() might not clear the pb? It does.
Did you think I meant we should replace trace.note with Command.outf?
That's not what I meant. I meant that, if Command.outf were pb-safe, we
would have pb-safe ways of writing everything, including warnings and
notes. It would then be a matter of just changing usage of sys.stdout
to Command.outf.
