This implies there is a bug in Bazaar Explorer then.

In ~/.bazaar/bazaar.conf, I have the line:

editor = doEdit

my VISUAL is empty, and EDITOR is doEdit. So there are lots of hints
that doEdit is the script to run. However I always get the Error 13
unless I fill in the Editor spec in Bazaar Explorer directly. If I put
doEdit there then everything is fine.

My current suspicion is now that Bazaar Explorer is not correctly
processing the bazaar.conf entry, but this is from a position of total
ignorance of the code.
