- are you targeting lp and loggerhead mainly,

- do you plan to land this plugin in core or keep it for experiments and
  land bits and pieces without addind a db dependency,

Also, it would be very useful to quantify your algorithms with respect
to:
- the number of nodes processed,

- the number of physical IOs (excluding cache trickery but showing how
  you group nodes in your queries),
