Migrating CVS repositories to Bazaar

I haven't tried newer versions because I haven't found a way to update them
without making changes to other libraries on my system.

Is there a way to install bzr and bzr fastimport in a portable manner, where
I can have them all in a single directory, and they don't conflict with the
older versions currently installed on the system?
