2.5b4: Could not acquire lock [Errno 5] (dirstate)

I can't checkout a LP project (or work in it) on a NFS mounted home
directory:

    bzr clone lp:mediawiki-el

    ... after few tries
    ...
    bzr: ERROR: Could not acquire lock "/home/jaalto/vc/epackage/mediawiki-el/.bzr/checkout/dirstate": [Errno 5]
put/output error

If I do the same in /tmp, no problems.
