OK, I don't know what happened but the error message saying "can't initialize
hal-device-manager" disappeared. All I did was reinstall "samba", "samba-common"
and "smbfs". Still network manager keeps neither dns-server information nor the
domainname. But may be that's another bug??!? Everything is fine using dhcp now.
