Summary: onProgress error and locked up dialog in Serpentine
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: serpentine
AssignedTo: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: mmacleod at ieee.org
QAContact: cogumbreiro at users.sf.net
While writing CDs with Serpentine today I encountered a number of problems. The
progress bar in the write dialog freezes at halfway, even though progress
continues on and the CD is completed correctly (the "Fixing to Disc" etc.
indicators under the bar update fine). When the disc is complete this dialog
remains frozen, and is not closed when the application exits.
I ran it again from a terminal, and received hundreds of:
TypeError: __on_progress() takes exactly 3 arguments (4 given)
TypeError: __on_progress() takes exactly 3 arguments (4 given)
errors.
And after the disc completed:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/serpentine/recording.py", line 232, in
__thread
self.preferences.write_flags)
gobject.GError: The system is too slow to write the CD at this speed. Try a
lower speed.
/usr/bin/serpentine:85: GtkWarning: gtk_file_system_path_is_local: assertion
`path != NULL' failed
gtk.main()
My computer is plenty fast (2.53 GHz, 1 gig RAM), and the discs I'm using only
write at 16x.
I had not encountered these problems on previous Breezy versions, although I
wouldn't say I'm a frequent user. This is with version 0.6.1 on Breezy Badger.
