Version of Ubuntu ? I Have already said Breezy :) And it is up to date.

If it is an app bug, then I think Gaim and Amarok are bugged... (I tested both)

Concerning rhythmbox, I can test since it is crashing on startup... (Bug #14189)

My version of Gaim : 1.5.0-1ubuntu2
My version of Amarok: 2:1.2.4-0ubuntu4
