Hm, your dmesg does not contain any trace of your USB device.
Removing the USB 2.0 module is worth a try:
echo ehci_hcd | sudo tail /etc/hotplug/blacklist.d/local
(i. e. create a new blacklist file in /etc/hotplug/blacklist.d/)
