"you need to understand that Evolution is not at fault here. It does not have
access to "S_ISLNK" type information. It just asks the IMAP server to list
directories recursively and the imap server is at fault for following symlinks
all over the filesystem. Evolution has no way of knowing what is and is not a
symlink.

What you need to do is configure a "namespace" in the account editor and point
it at "mail" or whatever."

I'm closing this bug since that's due to your imap server
