Just looked at the source code, gksu and logout use exactly the same code for
the fadeout (never noticed the fade part in gksudo). This seems to be the only
difference:

#define FADE_DURATION 100.0    (gksu)
#define FADE_DURATION 1500.0   (logout)

So probably very easy to do... :-) Maybe fadein would need to be added though.
