Thanks for your bug. That seems to be the same crasher than
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311819.

I've applied the CVS patch to the package which fixes the issue for me:

 metacity (1:2.11.1-0ubuntu2) breezy; urgency=low
 .
   * debian/patches/003_311819fix.patch:
     - fix the crasher #311819 from bugzilla.gnome.org (Ubuntu: #13062).
