This upload fixes the issue:

 gnumeric (1.5.1-1ubuntu1) breezy; urgency=low
 .
   * Sync with Debian.
   * debian/control:
     - build with python2.4.
   * debian/gnumeric.mime:
     - added "application/msexcel"
