Summary: gnome freezes computer whenever login in
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: i386
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: P2
         Component: gnome-session
        AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: gyrev.linux at free.fr
         QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com

since a few days, my computer always crashes whenever I log in a gnome session.
if I ask for a kde or xfce session (i installed both because gnome doesn't
work), i can log in, without any problem.

whatever user try to log in, gnome desesperately refuse to launch.

Same problem if I use kdm instead of gdm: as soon as I press the enter key in
the logging screen, the screen goes brown, with the Ubuntu banner, programs
initialyse themselves, I can hear the opening sound, and then, nothing, the
system hangs during that music. can't move the mouse, and keyboard doesn't
respond. all i can do is press 'reset'.

i tried to remove gnome, and reinstal it, but the same problem occurs.

i need help, thanx
