You are speaking about the "properties" menu entry from the right click menu, right?
That's a new feature of nautilus 2.11.1:
"* Add properties of the current folder menu item to background context menu"
This item doesn't make really sense for the desktop and has already be pointed
upstream, that should be fixed soon.
