Ubuntu | gnome-desktop
Summary: Oversized desktop icons
Product: Ubuntu
Version: unspecified
Platform: i386
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: gnome-desktop
AssignedTo: seb128 at ubuntu.com
ReportedBy: philgraetz at internode.on.net
QAContact: desktop-bugs at lists.ubuntu.com
In gThumb image viewer 2.6.5, I selected File/Folder/Open with the File Manager.
This opened the Nautilus 2.12.1 File Browser, in which I opened a folder of
images in using the "view as icons" option. The thumbnails were too small so I
resized them. When I returned to the desktop, all of the icons on the desktop
(i.e. for mounted drives and downloaded file folders) were grossly oversized -
approximately 1.5 inches square, on average. I have been unable to find a way
to reset the icon size - the problem persists after rebooting. The background
image, panels and panel icons are not affected. I am running Ubuntu 5.10 as a
dual boot with Win XP on a Dell Dimension 4550.
