Could you please give me more detaila to which version of Ubuntu are you using?
(hoary, breezy etc?)
I'm also assuming that by "ollow-mouse on" you mean the "Select windows when the
mouse moves over them" from the "Window Preferences" dialog, available from
"System"->"Preferences"->"Windows". Please correct me if I am wrong.
Trying to reproduce, I see that even though with this function enabled, I do get
auto focus on "regular" windows, this does not get me focus for any text input
oriented applet.
However, clicking on the input field does let me enter text.
