Ubuntu | totem-gstreamer

------- Additional Comments From c.elkjaer at gmail.com 2005-11-22 20:35 UTC -------
When filing this bug in October I used totem-gstreamer in Ubuntu Breezy. Since
then I have moved on to testing and doing my work solely using the 'Dapper Drake
Flight 1' release. So I am not able to do anymore testing of the version in
Ubuntu Breezy.

This put aside I can conclude that setting the 'Connection Speed' settings to
max in totem-gstreamer absolutely makes a difference. Totem now rarely runs out
of cache. So saying that the handling of cache in totem-gstreamer is not perfect
but it is acceptable I think. However, a lot of people probably will have to
change the default settings of 'Connection Speed' to a higher level. That is
perhaps something to look into considering the plan to make Dapper a smooth
desktop experience with 'Just Works' applications for everyday use.

Last, I could do some testing with totem-xine but I may not be able to conclude
anything (for sure) due to the rareness of the bug. Therefore, I make it up to
you to eventually mark this bug not-a-bug, wont-fix or whatever.
