yes i had to move the .dekstop file provided by the pan package to
/usr/share/applications to make it work for me... to assist you with the bug
tracking, I then removed this file, reinstalled pan, as to start from a clean
starting point, and did the gnome-menu-spec-test thing, now everything seems to
work, even tried logging in with a new user and the menu item is there... weird,
dunno why it didn't work in the first place
