When I insert a DVD, it should start playing in totem. Instead, a dialog appears
with something like: "Would you like to burn a audio-, photo-, data-CD?" But
it's a Movie-DVD (Original) and not a CD-R or DVD-RW.

Then, when I start totem(-xine) and choose "Play Disc 'DVD_ROM Disc'" the
following appears:
"Failed to play Audio/Video Disc"
"Failed to find mountpoint for device /dev/hdc in /etc/fstab"

When I use xine, I can watch DVDs (I installed libcss and other libraries, so
this is not the problem).
