Here is the output from my patched breezy-rc box:

$ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
 layouts = [ch  de_nodeadkeys,us]
 model =
 options = [grp grp:alts_toggle]
 overrideSettings = true
