My /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml doesn't have this <glob
pattern="*.rb"/>. It may have been fixed in your version.

I just want Ruby scripts work like Python or Perl scripts. When I open an .py
file (empty or not), the Python syntax coloration is automatically selected. But
not with a .rb file.

Anyway, if it has been fixed already, it's ok.
