------- Additional Comments From venkatraghavan at gmail.com  2005-09-22 20:18 UTC -------
Sorry for additional comment, but i forgot to include any information about my
system (d'oh)

I also use a Tibook (Powerbook G4 500 mhz) running breezy with the latest stock
kernel.

Sound modules loaded
===================
snd_pcm_oss            65024  0
snd_mixer_oss          22048  1 snd_pcm_oss
snd_powermac           53348  3
snd_pcm               106020  3 snd_pcm_oss,snd_powermac
snd_timer              28388  1 snd_pcm
snd                    63668  10
snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_powermac,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore              11364  1 snd
snd_page_alloc         11880  1 snd_pcm

Plus, sometimes all this sound-fu in trying to get one channel muted because
sound was adjusted using pbbuttonsd leaves a little sound remenant, but
everything i've used (alsamixer,aumix) shows volume to be zero.
