>From those logs it appears that ipod_item_new is trying to allocate 1.8Gb of
memory. Why it's trying to do that I don't understand, because the structure it
should be allocating is only a few bytes big.

Since the logs are attached here I'm CC'ing Christophe, who usually deals with
Rhythmbox-ipod stuff.
