For the record, this is the culprit:

-udevd(2678)---udev(7359)---udev_run_devd(7366)---hal-unmount.dev(7367)---pumount(7370)---umount(7371)

Thus immediately after plugging in the card, udev calls the dev.d scripts with a
"remove" action. 

Let the search continue about the reason for that...
