My test device is an IBM x31 laptop, with a built-in CF card reader. The trace
comes from just inserting the CF card into the slot. (I had previously inserted
the card, so it wasn't the first time the kernel has seen the device). Also when
I remove the card, I get a remove event for /dev/hde
