Public bug reported:
Affects: gnome-volume-manager (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
It is somewhat annoying to have nautilus launched when the ipod is
automounted. The device requires additional music management software,
so most of the user's interaction with the device is going to be through
rhythmbox (or banshee, etc).
Current experience:
* Start up rhythmbox.
* Plug in my ipod.
* The device is automounted.
* It appears in the rhythmbox sources list.
* A few seconds later nautilus interrupts what I was doing in rhythmbox and I have to close the window and reorient myself.
Note: On OSX, iTunes is launched when the ipod is attached. It might be
a good idea to special-case some devices to start the prefered music
player instead for ubuntu as well.
