I tried to use your example file to create another FLAC stream of unspecified length, but it failed:
mizar:[/space/music/songs/test] flac -dc filea.flac > filec.wav
flac 1.1.2, Copyright (C) 2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005 Josh Coalson
flac comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are
welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions. Type `flac' for details.
filea.flac: WARNING, don't have accurate sample count available for WAVE header. Generated WAVE file will have a data chunk size of 0. Try
decoding directly to a file instead.
filea.flac: done samples
mizar:[/space/music/songs/test] flac filec.wav
flac 1.1.2, Copyright (C) 2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005 Josh Coalson

options: -P 4096 -b 4608 -m -l 8 -q 0 -r 3,3
filec.wav: WARNING: skipping unknown sub-chunk 'Q'
leaving a truncated file.
