[Bug 38763] Gedit Doesn't load when superuser

Description:
Hello,
Gedit doesn't load when i am the super user through the terminal. The error i get is:

root at computer:/boot/grub# gedit menu.lst
cannot open display: (null)
Run 'gedit --help' to see a full list of available command line options.

steps to reproduce

1. su - to become the super user
2. enter root password
3. gedit /etc/network/interfaces to test and see if gedit will load


you should gedit the error.
