Ubuntu does not have the resources/manpower to produce and maintain such
a patch. This request will have way more chance of being fulfilled when
filed upstream (http://bugzilla.gnome.org)

I am closing the bug here, for the reasons just stated, feel free to
reopen if you disagree.
