[Bug 39059] Deskbar crashes when launching an application

Description:
After the recent upgrades deskbar now dies when I try to lauch an
application. Works fine in other cases such as searching in beagle, etc

Steps to Reproduce

1) In deskbar enter the search phrase "terminal"
2) Launch terminal (gnome-terminal)
3) The applet crashes

The trace below is from manually launching the applet from /usr/lib
/deskbar-applet
