I'm using same as you, rhythmbox 0.9.3.1-0ubuntu3 x86. I have opened rhythmbox by the terminal but nothing happens when I quit by the systray. -- [Dapper] rhythmbox doesn't close when minimized and quitted by the systray https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/38907
