[Bug 39836] "freeze" when shift draging a date from the clock

Description:
Using the latest dapper

if you open up the calander in the clock applet, then select a day, then
push shift and drag the date, the drag never ends.

No longer accepts keyboard input, the mouse buttons don't do anything
(because the drag is still in effect).  In essence, the system is
frozen.  I had to Ctl-Alt-F1, log in, and killall clock-applet  before
the mouse was unfrozen, because couldn't recover anything in X
