This is a new installation but it was one of the earlier Flights, 3 or 4 I think. It is an ntfs partition and the fstab line was created by the installer. Here's the /etc/fstab line:
/dev/sda1       /media/sda1     ntfs    defaults        0       0

I'm going to do a fresh install withe the Dapper Beta CD and see what happens.
