It has not been fixed yet but I'll play with patch from http://mail.gnome.org/archives/nautilus-list/2006-March/msg00107.html probably before dapper and backport it if upstream commits it to CVS or is fine with it -- Nautilus as FTP has no CHMOD ability https://launchpad.net/bugs/19248
