Public bug reported:

Affects: gst-plugins0.8 libgstreamer-plugins0.8-0 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Installing Ubuntu from CD hangs when configuring libgstreamer

The following was produced by aptitude when trying to load the packages
manually (I am a relative novice)

Setting up libstreamer0.8-0 (0.8.11-1ubuntu1) ...
OIL: ERROR liboiltest.c 247: (): illegal instruction in idct8x8_s16_mmx
OIL: ERROR liboiltest.c 247: (): illegal instruction in idct8x8_s16_mmx
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file

Several other people appear to have the same problem.
The machine is an excellent venerable HP Vectra with a pentium II and a graphics card and not much else on board.

Thanks
