*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 33285 ***

This error may indicate that you haven't set a valid directory for backups, etc,
using the gnome-pilot applet. Try starting up gpilotd-control-applet, 'Add..'ing or
'Edit..'ing a Pilot entry, and setting a 'Local basedir' field.

A recent upstream bugfix _should_ mean that it is no longer possible to add a Pilot entry without setting a valid directory. Of course, the applet shouldn't be showing junk when the entry is missing.

So: questions:
1. do you have a 'Local basedir' set?
2. If not, does the error go away if you configure one?
3. Is it possible to 'Add' and new Pilot using the applet without setting a valid basedir?
