I can confirm that this patch fixes it for gecko-sharp*, monodevelop, liferea, devhelp and doesn't break yelp, epiphany, firefox. Someone with more knowledge about firefox please upload this :) -- devhelp starts with an "empty" page area, which is not redrawn https://launchpad.net/bugs/40320
