That repository has no "dapper" directory. I can not install the -dbgsym
packages !

(I need gnome-system-tools-dbgsym , right ?)

Note that the bug can be easily reprodiced, even in vmware.

BTW, there is an error in my first post. Instead of :
In the "Time and Date Settings" dialog, that appeared, I clicked "Time zone".

It should say :
In the "Time and Date Settings" dialog, that appeared, I clicked "Select Time zone...".
