the smp build has been dropped because there was almost no performance
difference with the generic kernel and it's a lot of extra efforts to
maintain the extra build. Better to use an user list or forum or the
support tracker if you have specific questions about that. It has also
been discussed on the ubuntu-devel list if you want to read the mail
about that change
