[Bug 53744] Automatic login of user with uid of 500 doesn't work

Public bug reported:

In fedora core, user id for new users starts at 500, so my standard user
at my home network has a uid of 500. I created the same user on my
ubuntu machine with uid 500 but when I access the Administration/Login
Window/Security  tab, I cannot set this user to be automatically logged
in. Also, if I type in the user name it is ignored.
