Public bug reported:
When setting up the partition tables manually during installation
(liveCD installer) you can work with a Partition Magic like tool. In my
case I had two ext3 partitions (both primary) followed by a swap
partition (also primary) and a W95 Ext'd (LBA). This one contained free
space at the beginning followed by a ntfs partition. I wanted to move
the ntfs partition to the beginning and create another ext3 partition
behind it. The most simple way to do so, is IMHO to just move the
partition - impossible! Then I wanted to resize the ntfs partition so
that it covers the entire Ext'd area - also impossible. So my only
option would have been to delete the ntfs partition and re-create it at
the right place; however, this was no real option as the data would have
been lost. So I just created the ext3 partition in the empty space.
** Affects: gparted (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
